In a move that duplicates Disney's long-running strategy, Warner Bros will cease production of its Harry Potter film franchise on DVD and Blu-ray disc at the end of 2011!
The 8-part film franchise will be withdrawn, from sale, for an indefinite period, and returned to the vault.
I've owned the first three instalments on both DVD and Blu-ray disc, but decided to wait for news of an ultimate collection, which has been announced for this holiday season. It's worth noting that there's a confusing array of editions in the retail channel.
Doubtlessly, Warner Bros will release, at the company's discretion, further editions in the future. For now Harry Potter: 1-8 (Blu-ray disc) will be just fine...
