Super Glau

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles is to be renewed!

The Sarah Connor Chronicles mines the rich seams of Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day (eschewing Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, which is notable for its brave Planet of the Apes ending).

Although the series, currently airing on Virgin 1 in the UK, has yet to truly capitivate me in the manner of Lost or The Big Bang Theory. The ever-enigmatic Summer Glau (best known as River from Firefly/Serenity) is a revelation as a Terminator! Her otherworldy performance, as Cameron, is pitch perfect and scene stealing! The fight scenes are more than a match for the franchises big screen origins!

The intrinsic potential is there, but in the absence of James Cameron and Linda Hamilton...

Lost Connection

During the past week I've been unable to view any site hosted on BlogSpot! Suffice to say that I contacted my ISP, Virgin Media, to report a possible DNS issue and, initially, thought that the matter would be resolved in a timely matter. However, their Technical Support team did not follow-up my complaint via telephone or e-mail. Therefore I decided to start threads on Apple Support Discussions, Digital Spy and Google Groups.

Thankfully someone at Blogger picked up the bait and investigated the matter; there was a network issue affecting certain UK-based ISPs. A workaround is in place whilst further investigations are carried out. Thus I can now safely order a Belkin ADSL Modem with Built-in 125g Wireless Router and finally experience WiiConnect24 and all its download goodness.

Due to this negative experience with Virgin Media's Technical Support, I will no longer be recommending the company. I've already started encouraging family, friends and acquaintances, caught on the receiving end of the sky/Virgin Media battle, to switch!

And don't think of Virgin Media as the underdog! It's tantamount to Manchester United vs Chelsea FC!

Return to the Lost World

Hardly seems possible that a year ago Lost S1 R1 DVD dropped through my letterbox prior to the US street date. This week the same has happened with S2!

Review to follow.

Hatching A Plot

No sooner are the tears drying from my eyes following Saturday's episode of Doctor Who. Tonight sees the highly anticipated start of Lost's second season on Channel 4 and E4. Don't let its detractors deter you from returning to the mysterious island.

I've already watched several episodes (courtesy of family) and am reaping the benefit of ABC Television's new free online streaming service, which launched yesterday! Episodes of Desperate Housewives, Lost and Alias are encoded using Flash and I'd recommend using Firefox to view them!
